We drove up to Alamos today. Took lots of pictures and visited a beautiful hotel. But wanted to share what we saw as we were coming home. We had just got into Huatabampo when we saw this procession. Today is the celebration of the Virgin of Guadalupe. A very important day in Mexico. It was dusk so the pictures are a little dark but you can get the idea. This is the main street in Huatabampo. You can see the banner of the Virgin of Guadalupe beinging held up by the horseman in the middle.

About Alamos tomorrow - with pictures of course.

Even though I'm not Catholic, I consider the Virgin of Guadalupe celebration special for two reasons. First, it's on my birthday. Second, in seminary at Seattle University, a Jesuit school, I was privileged to be able to take a class from a woman who had done her Ph.D on the Virgin of Guadalupe. Fascinating. Am so glad you included these pictures.
